Boasting massive, 600 year old fir trees, waterfalls and bountiful wildlife, Goldstream Provincial Park offers a break from city life while keeping visitors close to the capital. The many trails are enjoyed by hikers and bikers alike, and the annual Salmon run is a spectacle not to be missed. The Freeman King Visitor Centre is located at the north end of the park.
Those who make it up the challenging trail that leads to the summit of Mount Wells will enjoy views of Juan de Fuca Strait, Victoria, and Sooke Hills. In the summer the park is covered with wildflowers including the endangered Prairie lupine, which grows nowhere else in Canada.
