Welcome to Langford, BC!

Langford is located on southern Vancouver Island, 9 km (6 mi) from Victoria. With a population nearing 23,000, Langford is one of Victoria's fastest growing bedroom communities, and belongs to a group of municipalities known as the West Shore or Western Communities encompassing Colwood, Metchosin, Highlands and View Royal. With more open land area than Victoria, Langford has been rapidly expanding with new developments that include many big-box stores and the new Bear Mountain Golf and Country Club—making Langford regularly visited by its Victorian neighbours. The many young families that live here enjoy other attractions like the All Fun Recreation Park with mini-golf, water slides, go-karts, a driving range and batting cages. The West Shore Skate Park and the Western Speedway are other big recreation draws.

But Langford's main attraction is not man-made. Goldstream Provincial Park with its old-growth rain forest comprised of 600-year-old trees is certainly a site to see. Visitors gather here in November to watch the annual salmon run on the river that runs through the park, or to hike Mount Finlayson located just past Goldstream Park. The spectacular views make the 413-m (1,375-ft) climb worth it.
